The counter registers repetitive actions. It is an integral part of a device called an "odometer". The model has three cylinder gears with numbers from 0 to 9 and a Maltese cross gear. This combination allows you to observe an interesting mechanical property: namely, how the stroke movement of the click button with the drive mechanism changes into the rotary movement of the cylinder gears with numbers.The counter offers two possibilities for data acquisition: click button and a rotary handle. Pressing the button or turning the handle moves the counter one place. When the counter 9 passes, the Geneva cross gear catches the next register cylinder and adds it to the counter. In total, the three-digit display can register counter values from 1 to 999. You can open the front panel of the meter and reset it manually. Try to count steps on the way home.
