Cancellation policy
Right of withdrawal
Consumers have a right of withdrawal in accordance with the following provisions, a consumer being any natural person who enters into a legal transaction for purposes that can predominantly be attributed neither to their commercial nor to their independent professional activity:
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the day on which you, or a third party named by you who is not the carrier, took possession of the goods. In the case of a single order for several goods delivered separately, the withdrawal period begins on the day on which you, or a third party named by you who is not the carrier, took possession of the last goods.

of your decision to withdraw from this contract by means of a clear statement (e.g. a letter sent by post or an email). You may use the model withdrawal form below, but this is not mandatory.
You can also exercise your right of withdrawal online via the withdrawal function provided in your customer account or on the order status page. If you use this online function, we will send you an acknowledgement of receipt without delay on a durable medium (e.g. by email), containing information on the content of your withdrawal declaration and the date and time of its receipt.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your notice of exercising the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Consequences of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse all payments we have received from you, including delivery costs. This excludes any additional costs resulting from your choice of a type of delivery other than the cheapest standard delivery offered by us.
Repayment will be made without delay and at the latest within fourteen days of the day on which we received notice of your withdrawal. For this repayment we will use the same means of payment that you used for the original transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise. You will not incur any fees as a result of this repayment.
We may withhold repayment until we have received the goods back or until you have provided proof that you have sent the goods back, whichever is earlier.
You must send back or hand over the goods to us without delay and at the latest within fourteen days of the day on which you inform us of the withdrawal. The deadline is met if you send the goods before the period of fourteen days has expired.
For returns within Germany, we bear the direct cost of returning the goods. For returns from abroad, you bear the direct cost of returning the goods yourself.
You only have to pay for any loss in value of the goods if this loss in value is due to handling of the goods that was not necessary to check their nature, characteristics and functioning.
Voluntary 100-day return policy
In addition to the statutory right of withdrawal, for deliveries within Germany we grant a voluntary right of return for a total of 100 days from receipt of the goods. In the case of a single order for several goods delivered separately, the 100-day period begins upon receipt of the last goods.
The 100-day period includes the statutory withdrawal period of 14 days. During the statutory withdrawal period, only the statutory provisions on the right of withdrawal as set out in the cancellation policy above apply.
After the statutory withdrawal period has expired and until the end of the 100-day period, you can return the goods under our voluntary return policy. This requires that you return the goods complete and used only to the extent necessary to check their nature, characteristics and functioning.
Gift vouchers are excluded from the voluntary return policy; the statutory right of withdrawal remains unaffected.
To make use of our voluntary return policy, please contact us before sending anything back at kontakt@ligna-arts.de. You can use our return form for this or send us the details requested in it by email.
Once we receive your return request, we check whether the conditions for the voluntary return policy are met. After a successful check, you will receive further information on the return and a return label from us. Please only send the goods back after hearing from us and using the return label we provide.
Returns under the voluntary 100-day return policy are free of charge for deliveries within Germany.
After receiving and checking the returned goods, we will refund the purchase price of the returned items via the original means of payment.
The voluntary 100-day return policy applies exclusively to deliveries within Germany. For deliveries outside Germany, the statutory withdrawal period of 14 days applies; no further voluntary 100-day right of return is granted.
Your statutory right of withdrawal and your statutory warranty rights remain unaffected by this voluntary return policy.
Exchange
Instead of returning the goods, you can also exchange them for another item from our range. Exchanges are possible within the same periods as returns: for deliveries within Germany within 100 days of receipt of the goods, for deliveries outside Germany within 14 days of receipt of the goods. This requires that you return the goods complete and used only to the extent necessary to check their nature, characteristics and functioning.
To arrange an exchange, please contact us before sending anything back at kontakt@ligna-arts.de and let us know which item you would like instead. After receiving and checking the returned goods, we will send you the requested item. If the new item is more expensive, you pay the difference; if it is cheaper, we refund the difference via the original means of payment.
For deliveries within Germany, you will receive a return label from us; the return and the shipping of the new item are free of charge. For deliveries outside Germany, you bear the cost of the return and the shipping costs for the new item according to our shipping rates applicable at the time.
An exchange is only possible while the requested item is available. Gift vouchers are excluded from exchange. Your statutory right of withdrawal and your statutory warranty rights remain unaffected.
Exchange after you have started building
You have started building and realise the model is not for you? Then you can exchange it once for another model or a voucher – within 100 days of receipt of the goods. This option applies exclusively to deliveries within Germany.
How it works:
- Write to us via our contact form or at kontakt@ligna-arts.de – with your order number, photos of your current building progress and the numbers of the sheets from which you have already removed parts. We will first help you continue building.
- If the model still isn't right for you, we will confirm the exchange by email. Then send the model back to us complete within 14 days of our confirmation: all parts, disassembled, including the sheets not yet used. Parts that break during disassembly are not a problem. Please do not send a model back without our confirmation.
- Once it arrives, we check the parcel within two weeks. If the conditions are met, you receive a voucher for the price actually paid for the model – after deduction of all discounts and excluding shipping costs. You can redeem the voucher straight away for another model – for example a simpler or a more challenging one. If the new model is more expensive, you pay the difference; if it is cheaper, the remaining amount stays on the voucher.
Conditions and notes:
- The exchange after you have started building is available once per customer and for one model. The email address and delivery address of the order are decisive.
- The model has been started but not completed: at least one assembly group from the instructions is fully assembled and visible in the photos. A few removed parts are not sufficient.
- All parts are included. Glued, painted or varnished models are excluded from the exchange.
- You bear the cost of the return.
- If a part is missing or broken, we will send you a replacement free of charge – no exchange is needed for this.
- The exchange must be requested by the person who bought the model from us – with the order number and the email address used for the order. If you received the model as a gift, please contact the person who gave it to you.
- For the same model you can use either the exchange after you have started building or withdrawal, return or exchange under the sections above – not both.
- Models paid for in full or in part with a voucher from an exchange after building has started are excluded from this exchange.
- The voucher is valid for all models and items in our shop, but not for gift vouchers, and cannot be redeemed for cash. It is valid for three years, counted from the end of the year in which it was issued.
- Your statutory right of withdrawal and your statutory warranty rights remain unaffected.
