Description

The NASA Lunar Rover is a 1:15 scale wooden model based on the Lunar Roving Vehicle – spring-driven, travelling up to 3 meters, and it folds just like the original.

Its design closely follows the LRV that astronauts used to explore the Moon. Like the original, the rover folds into a compact form for transport on a rocket ship, and an automatic mechanism unfolds it again.

A key hidden under the chassis winds the ratchet mechanism. Use the Start/Stop switch to release your rover, and it travels up to 3 meters. The wheels rotate and pivot, with rubber treads for traction. A project for several evenings – 319 parts, about 8 hours.
