Description

The Marble Run Chain Hoist is a kinetic marble run with a hand crank: a wooden chain hoist carries the marbles back to the top.

Turn the handle clockwise and the chain hoist collects the marbles and lifts them to the top of the machine. There a 3-way switch sends them onto different tracks, each with its own obstacles. One marble plunges down a chute and completes a loop-the-loop at the bottom; three more gather in the accumulator before being released down one of three short tracks.

The run is modular: with the included connectors you can join two models frontally, or four both frontally and laterally, for a mini system of hoists and tracks.

A weekend project – 400 parts, about 7 hours.
