Description
V8 Engine – a V8 at 1:6 scale: eight cylinders, 16 valves, everything in plain view.
The kit recreates the main mechanisms of a real V8: eight pistons move in cycle, with two cylinders firing for every 90 degrees of crankshaft rotation. 16 spring-loaded valves open and close as the camshaft lobes push them, a timing chain links the crankshaft to the valve train, and a throttle valve sits on the intake manifold.
An electric motor styled as a generator drives the engine, powered via a USB-C cable. Or turn it by hand with the knob below the switch and follow every stroke. A project for several evenings – 776 parts, about 8 hours. You build it in stages: first the cylinder block, then the valve blocks.

Laser-cut edges, open mechanics, visible wood grain: every part is laser-cut from plywood so precisely that it fits without glue. Gears, levers and shafts stay visible – the mechanism is part of the design.
