In the 18th century, young noblemen dueled their riding skills by trying to impale rings that hung on a pole with their lance. Already in the Middle Ages there was a similar game in which knights tried to catch rings while driving by from a rotating stand. After the character of the equestrian games changed somewhat in the course of the 18th century, the rotating carousel with wooden horses was created on a platform, on which the women also enjoyed themselves and which was operated by pure muscle power. Today we usually find the carousel at the fair, where both young and old are enthusiastic.
