Description

Roadster VM-01: a retro-styled sports car with a rubber band motor, a gearbox and a V8 under the hood.

The rubber band motor carries the roadster up to 4 meters on a single winding. The winding key sits at the rear, styled as a spare wheel. The transmission offers three modes – forward, reverse and idle – and you set the direction with the working steering wheel. Front-wheel suspension adds to the realism.

Lift the hood and you see the V8 engine with its moving valves. The body combines plywood in 2 and 4 mm thicknesses, which gives it long, smooth lines. A project for several evenings – 437 parts, about 10 hours.
