Description
The Tyrannosaurus Rex is a spring-driven walking automaton – the first two-legged walker in the UGEARS collection, covering up to 60 cm per winding.
A metal spring drives the legs, eccentric gear sets swing the tail in sync with every step, and the jaws move up and down. Throughout, the dinosaur keeps its balance and does not tip to the side.
You'll find the winding key in the top of the tail. Insert it into the ratchet on the left side, set the switch to off and wind the spring half a dozen times clockwise. Then place the T-Rex on a smooth, flat surface, hold it by the body, switch it on and let go. A project for several evenings – 249 parts, about 8 hours.

Laser-cut edges, open mechanics, visible wood grain: every part is laser-cut from plywood so precisely that it fits without glue. Gears, levers and shafts stay visible – the mechanism is part of the design.
Designed by UGEARS, a Ukrainian brand, produced in the EU. We have been bringing the models to Germany as the exclusive importer since 2015 and ship from Germany. If a part breaks while building, spare parts are free.
