Description
Anakin Skywalker's Podracer™ from Star Wars™: The Phantom Menace is a 3D wooden model on a balance stand – with a glowing energy arc between the engines.
The balance mechanism lets the craft tilt, sway and turn, simulating its hovering flight across the sands of Tatooine in the Boonta Eve Classic. Flexible battery-powered LED wires join the twin engines and recreate the signature electric arc from the movie. A switch underneath the engines turns the light on, and the battery slot comes out so you can swap the battery easily.
Anakin sits in the trailing cockpit, and the side door opens by hand. A project for an afternoon – 240 parts, about 3 hours, built from colored plywood.
