Description
The Hogwarts™ Express is the locomotive from the Harry Potter™ films as a working wooden model with a spring motor – complete with coal tender and passenger carriage.
It recreates the look of the GWR 5972 Olton Hall locomotive used in the films. A metal spring motor drives the wheels through a gear train. Wind it with the special key – there are slots on both sides – with the smokestack set to Stop. Then twist the smokestack to Start and watch the wheels and connecting rods at work as the train runs straight ahead: up to 6 meters on its own, up to 4 meters with both cars attached.
Inside the carriage, Harry, Hermione and Ron sit on mounts that move side to side while the train is running. A project for several evenings – 504 parts, about 7 hours.

Laser-cut edges, open mechanics, visible wood grain: every part is laser-cut from plywood so precisely that it fits without glue. Gears, levers and shafts stay visible – the mechanism is part of the design.
Designed by UGEARS, a Ukrainian brand, produced in the EU. We have been bringing the models to Germany as the exclusive importer since 2015 and ship from Germany. If a part breaks while building, spare parts are free.
