Q: What is UGEARS?

UGEARS is a Ukrainian brand, founded in Kyiv in 2014, that designs mechanical wooden model kits and produces them in the EU. The range covers more than a hundred models — from clocks and marble runs to vehicles and the licensed Harry Potter™ and Star Wars™ series. ugears.de is operated by Ligna Arts OHG, the official importer for Germany.

UGEARS is a Ukrainian brand of mechanical 3D wooden puzzles and wooden model kits. ugears.de is the shop of the official importer for Germany – shipping from Germany in 1–3 working days and free shipping within Germany from €35. The range includes more than a hundred models – from clocks and marble runs to vehicles and licensed models from Harry Potter™ and Star Wars™.

They actually work once they're built. They're driven mechanically, by spring and rubber-band motors: clocks run with a pendulum or a tourbillon, marble runs carry the marble back up by lift, and safes get a combination lock with a code you set yourself. The range goes from the Droideka with 180 parts to the Millennium Falcon with 1,235 — the brand's largest kit.

Depending on the model, from about half an hour to around 50 hours. The build time is shown as a guide on every product page where it is available for that model.

The manufacturer's age recommendation is on every product page — for most models it is 14+. It tells you whether someone can manage on their own, not whether a model is too hard. Built together, younger builders can start earlier.
